The Poster

From the Program

“The houses open for public viewing during Ol Island Day are not, by monetary standards valuable — nor, in the main, are their furniture and furnishings objects d’ art. They represent, we think, an enjoyable way of life, and their Conch architecture and furnishings indicate our origin…a background we are glad to share with the visitor and one we believe he will find colorful and interesting…

…It is the hope of the Old Island Committee that the restoration and dedication of the Audubon House marks the start of a popular movement to recapture and preserve our rapidly disappearing landmarks and treasures of the past.”
